Ready Set Go…
So Welcome 2017, what do you have in store for me this year?
When you have a year like I did in 2016, 2017 will have a hard time filling those shoes, running shoes that is. Trying to figure out what I want out of this year is actually pretty difficult. What do I want, well I absolutely want to keep the weight off I have lost, I worked hard to get to this point and I am not going to ruin it. Its funny it is actually harder to keep the weight off than it was to lose it.
I also want to keep running and add some biking and swimming in to this year. What that equals is another Duathlon and a Triathlon. That is one thing that I have scheduled and paid for is the CCSD Womans Bike Camp. I am actually doing it with a friend of mine who I hope to go on to do a triathlon with. I have to say I sometimes wonder who I have become, then I look in the mirror and remember this is a while new me.
So it is already January 15th and I have only a handful of races scheduled for 2017. Some are some pretty big races such as the Del Sol Ragnar and the Roll Vegas Half Marathon and some are repeats from last year that I want to run again to see how I have improved over a year such as the Cardiff Kook 10K and the Ultimate Wine Run 5K. It is hard now that I know how many races that there are to choose from located all over. And now that I have friends that are spread out throughout the United States, Germany and France I honestly look at where I want to run, not just where I can run.
My other goal this year is to meet as many of the runners in the From Fat To Finish Line Community as they have become good friends even though I know most of them only through the Facebook Community. This is the most amazing group of runners, they inspire and motivate me every day. I also look forward to running with my local friends that were there for me last year at a large amount of my races. These friendships were one of the best things to come out of 2016.
So at the time of this post my next race will be the Cardiff Kook which I will be doing with my sister Debi. This will be the third time we have done this race together. Last year we were supposed to do the 10K but I was not ready, this year piece of cake!
So as always I hope to see you at the finish line@
