Ragnars Rock !!! The Finish Line

200-ish miles of road running with 12 friends, 2 vans and 24+ hours of…..

Yep that is a Ragnar, that is what I signed up for and as you will see it exceeded my expectations.

So we have finished out second leg we have gotten well rested at the the house that we had rented and now we are heading out to finish up the Ragnar.

So just so you know at this point I probable have slept maybe 3 hours, yes I said three hours and believe me I am exhausted. But to be honest it is a good kind of exhausted, that kind of running on adrenaline kind of exhausted. I also cannot be held accountable for anything I may have said during this time.

What was really cool is during the 3 exchange with Janet their were hot air balloons everywhere it was just gorgeous.

We had one final horse goo for Janet on her last leg and she was very grateful for it. Horse goo who would have thought.

Now for my leg I was pretty lucky as my first 2 legs were pretty flat, but the best is saved for last. I am running 4.1 and it is ranked moderate. I was pretty lucky that I ran early in the morning so it was not horrible hot, it was hot but nothing compared to what my fellow teammates in Van 2 ran in. I had great support from Van 1, there were right there my last leg. I was never so happy to see that final 1 mile marker.

So now we are in the final stretch and we have a couple of runners in Van 1 to come in and then Van 2 will bring it home. Our Runner 6 is Jeffrey and I got to tell you this guy is a badass. There was no doubt that he was going to give his all and it was so cool that his wife and kids were there when he finished his last leg.

So now we get to kick back at one of the original Running Down a Dream Team Members Rudy and let me tell you this guys again took care of us. Pool, beer, food and get this a massage chair which I am still undecided on.

Van 2 is now bringing home the show and we are meeting this at the final destination and oh my goodness what a party. What is really cool is we get to finally meet up with all the other teams and it is so cool. I was excited to find friends from the Kilty Pleasures John Hulsey, Angela Lee, Lupe Coons, and Tammy Rhones. I also had out on my to do list to meet Meredith from the movie From Fat To Finish Line and I did and she as as nice as she could be.

Our final runner was Nichloas and he rocked the final leg. It was so cool as he came in to finish we all joined him at the finish line. By this time I am not going to lie I was beyond exhausted and I dont remember a lot of the final hours of the Ragnar. What I do know is this will go down as the best experiences of my life and I cannot imagine my life without meeting and spending time with these 11 people.
