Ok I am 60 days in on Marathon Training and where did the time fly. So in the last 60 days I have run 170 miles…. HOLY SHIT! Each month my mileage has increased. Now this does not count the additional steps that I take each day. Taking the runs out I have walked in 60 days 301 miles, I am so excited about this. The same months in 2018 I ran 43.5 mile and walked an additional 211 miles. I think what amazes me even more about what I can do if I put my mind to in is… on 2019 I walked 4 million steps!!!!!!! Thats 1,749 miles. If I can do that I can do 26.2 miles.
When it comes to training or tracking I have never stayed this dedicated to anything other than 2016 when I lost my weight. I was thinking the other day about this and what was different. What I came up with is pretty much what I did in 2016. I have told everyone that I am doing this marathon, just as I told everyone that I had joined WW and was making a change back then.
It’s accountability, the more people that know your purpose, the more people that will give you their support and the more you really want to succeed, at least this is what I truly believe is motivating me.
The other biggest motivator is my Coach and very best friend Angela. We have tried this before in the past and I struggled with the plan, skipping sessions or not thinking I could do a workout. This time it is different and I ask when I am not sure or I let Angela know where my concern is. Luckily she knows her audience so she knows how to deliver the message and give me the flexibility I need sometimes to get workouts in. I have found it is super important to know when to ask questions if I don’t understand a training term. Half way through this training and I am really feeling good about how I am progressing.
So 10 weeks until the marathon and I am still excited and motivated to get to that start line!!!
